INTOXICATING FEIJOAS
The Feijoa, sometimes known as the Pineapple Guava, has soft, succulent flesh similar in texture to a pear with flavors of pineapple and banana and an intoxicating fragrance!
ROASTING CHESTNUTS
Now is the season to roast Chestnuts! Chestnuts are a sweet fleshy nut with a starchy texture and a low fat content. Add them to your Thanksgiving stuffing, mash them like potatoes or try adding them to Japanese rice for a fall favorite. Open for links to recipes.
CALIFORNIA GROWN POMEGRANATES
Look for pomegranates with a full bright red to dark red color that feels heavy for their size, which means they are super juicy. Drastic changes in temperature from cold to hot or rain can cause the fruit to crack. This is not a bad thing! In fact the fruit will be bursting with juice and ready to go! CRANBERRIES- AMERICA’S ORIGINAL SUPERFRUIT
All fresh cranberries are dry harvested once a year between mid-September through early November. Cranberries are incredibly good for you and are not just for enjoying during the holiday season. Eaten fresh, frozen or dried, cranberries are high in vitamin C, fiber and vitamin E and packed with antioxidants.
