GOLD NUGGET MANDARINS
Gold Nugget Mandarins have bumpy skin, are very aromatic and are easy to peel. Fruit is seedless with a rich and sweet flavor. Season starts in San Diego County, overlaps and finishes in the foothills of Fresno County.
FARM TOUR 2022: RAINBOW VALLEY ORCHARDS
In Selma we met the infamous Ryan San Jose, “Sales Ninja” of Rainbow Valley Orchards, and quickly hopped in his truck to start our tour. He launched into RVO history as he weaved through traffic on the 99 towards Visalia, flanked by the fruit and nut orchards that dominate the San Joaquin Valley.

Since 1981 Rainbow Valley Orchards has been a grower, packer and shipper of high quality, organically grown citrus in Southern California.
BURKART ORGANICS
Burkart Organics is a small California grower specializing in stone fruit in Dinuba, CA. One of the advantages of working with small growers like Burkart, is that they spend extra time focusing on the quality of the stone fruit, going through their orchard and doing several picks of each variety.

Moro Blood Oranges are now coming out of the Central San Joaquin Valley.
MARKET DISRUPTIONS
Historically December and January see disruptions in organic markets due to various factors such as frosts, winter storms, less daylight hours and holidays.

SUN VALLEY FARMS
The Ponce family has been farming in the Pajaro Valley for three generations. Rogelio Ponce Senior began Sun Valley Farms after learning from his father. Now Rogelio Ponce Jr. and his brother Steven are committed to continuing the family tradition.
