Produce that inspires… knowledge.
Our passion for produce and drive to share knowledge across the chain is one of our biggest differentiators at Earl’s Organics.
THOMCORD GRAPES
Thomcord grapes are a cross between Thompson grapes (crunchy, sweet and seedless) and Concord grapes (deep purple color, classic grape flavor) which gives you the best of both varieties.
CALIFORNIA ORGANIC CORN
The California organic corn season starts in May in Thermal, just 25 miles southeast of Palm Springs. In June, production begins to move north to Coalinga, just off Hwy 5, and continues up to Brentwood and Stockton in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Learn how to choose corn without peeling back the husk.
BLENHEIM APRICOTS
Dwelley Blenheim apricots have a sweet rich flavor, low acid and a smooth texture. Blenheims are the most coveted of the apricot varieties and are fast disappearing. Chefs love them to make jams and they are excellent for canning. The season is very short and lasts only a few weeks.
CALIFORNIA CHERRY SEASON KICKS OFF
California Stone Fruit season kicks off with sublime Royal Lynn Cherries from Fruit World and Tiogas from Frog Hollow Farm.
CHERRY SEASON AROUND THE CORNER
California Cherry season is just around the corner, and we anticipate our first land of cherries Thursday or Friday this week! The cherry season is very short in California and typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks depending on the weather or variety.
SPRING ONIONS
Spring onions have crisp green leaves and firm white or red bulbs. This mild tasting onion is its own unique variety. They can be grown year round but they are usually highlighted during the spring. Now is a great time to try them when some of the storage onions are almost finished and we are waiting for the new fresh crop.
IMPORT BARTLETT PEARS
Bartlett Pears from Argentina, also known as the Williams Bartlett, are the delicious piece of fruit we all recognize and love with its sweet flavor and smooth texture.
BACON AVOCADOS
Bacon Avocados have smooth bright green skin and creamy pale green flesh. Their mild flavor is delicious on avocado toast or in a winter citrus salad. Be careful when cutting this avocado into slices as the skin is very thin and delicate. We recommend peeling back the skin and then slicing the avocado.
MORO BLOOD ORANGES
Moro Blood Oranges are now coming out of the Central San Joaquin Valley. The red flesh varies in intensity depending on the variety, location where the trees are grown and the degree of fruit maturity.
