California Hass Avocado Season Ending

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The California Hass season is officially coming to an end. We anticipate California fruit winding down over the next 3 weeks. However, will have Earl’s favorite late season avocado grower out of Cayucos, Traceland, to get us through August and possible into September when Mexican fruit starts to fill the market. Traceland will start up with larger sized fruit in 40/48ct and then move into 60/70ct as the season progresses. As of right now, pricing remains stable but we do feel that it will be a volatile market as supply continues to diminish.

We are already seeing Mexican Flora Loca, or first crop, starting to cross the border. Earl’s Organic will continue to support California growers as we feel that late season California fruit will be superior to Mexican or Peruvian fruit.  We look forward to another great season with Equal Exchange this year. We hope to see Equal Exchange Fair Trade avocados as soon as September.
